Meet Steph
Founder & Principal Designer
Stephanie Smith is the founder and principal designer of Steph Home. She discovered her love for the mountains while earning her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Appalachian State University and has called Western North Carolina home ever since.
As an NCIDQ-certified interior designer, Stephanie brings both creative vision and technical expertise to every project. Her experience spans custom residential design, multi-family developments, and non-profit projects, giving her a comprehensive understanding of how thoughtful design can shape the way people live, work, and feel.
Stephanie specializes in architectural interiors and thrives on guiding projects from initial concept through construction and final installation. Known for her organized, collaborative approach and strong communication with clients, architects, builders, and trades, she believes the most successful projects are those that seamlessly balance beauty, functionality, and the realities of everyday life.
At the heart of her work is a simple belief: our homes have a profound impact on our well-being. The spaces we inhabit influence our mood, energy, relationships, and daily routines. A well-designed home should do more than look beautiful, it should support and elevate the life lived within it.
Rather than following trends or creating spaces that feel mass-produced, Stephanie approaches each project as a deeply personal reflection of its occupants. Drawing inspiration from travel, art, architecture, storytelling, and the surrounding landscape, she creates grounded, soulful interiors that feel authentic, enduring, and uniquely connected to the people who call them home.
Her goal is to design spaces that not only function beautifully, but also foster a sense of comfort, connection, and belonging, homes that feel as good as they look and become an extension of the lives unfolding within them.
